December 1st, 2015 (LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA) – Thirty-two players from around the globe will compete at the Dragon Ball Z Trading Card Game World Championship, taking place on December 5th in Dallas.
The inaugural season of Organized Play will come to an end at the Sheraton Airport Hotel, culminating in a display of the game’s top players. The event format will feature five rounds of swiss, followed by a cut to Top 8 for the elimination rounds. The top 8 rounds will all be played as “best of 3” matches, with no time limit. As seen throughout the Dragon Ball series, pairings for the first round will be determined by blind draw.
Aside from receiving exclusive cards and promotional swag, invitees will battle it out for $16,000 in cash prizes.

The winner will be crowned World Champion and awarded $7,000, along with the opportunity to create a dream card for future release. Panini America will also present a Championship Trophy, which will include the year and name of the victor.
In addition to the main event, an early invite for the 2016 Championship will be up for grabs in the ARG hosted Worlds Qualifier Tournament.
Worlds invitees, participants in the Qualifier Tournament, and spectators alike are all welcome to attend and enjoy this end of the year celebration. FUNimation has added to the prize pool for the weekend, including apparel, movies, collectibles, and more. FUNimation will be on site as well, with voice actors Justin Cook (Raditz, Yusuke Urameshi) and Mike McFarland (Master Roshi, Yajrobe, Dodoria) individually available for signings at 12.30-3.00 and 4.00-6.30!
